Training Catalog Course Details

The workshop will familiarize national statisticians with the type of climate changes statistics that can be developed to better inform economic and financial policy. By providing an opportunity for peer learning, the workshop envisages acting as a catalyst to assist SARTTAC-member countries (and other APD countries) in identifying the mechanism that need to be put in place for regular compilation of nationally macro-relevant climate change indicators to facilitate the elaboration of national economic and financial policies that consider the economic implications of climate change. The workshop will also help the targeted countries prioritize topics for further technical assistance and capacity development

The workshop will:

• provide an overview of the type of indicators that can be used to help understand the economic and financial implications of climate change;
• discuss the sources, methods and uses of a few key indicators; and
• identify the linkages between these indicators and the critical climate change concerns of the countries represented.
