Joannes Mongardini is a deputy division chief in the Research Department. Previously, he worked in the African, European, Middle East and Central Asia, and the Strategy and Policy Review Departments. While on leave from the IMF during 2013-15, he was chief economist for Qatar National Bank in Doha, Qatar. His research interests include macro-prudential, monetary and exchange rate policy, regional integration, and international trade.
