Revenue Mobilization for a Resilient and Inclusive Recovery in the Middle East and Central Asia

Domestic revenue mobilization has been a longstanding challenge for many MCD countries, compounded recently by the COVID-19 pandemic and the spillovers from the war in Ukraine. These have highlighted again the importance of raising revenues in a durable, efficient, and equitable manner.
The webinar will launch the recently completed paper Revenue Mobilization for a Resilient and Inclusive Recovery in the Middle East and Central Asia. The paper finds that there is significant scope to raise revenues in many MCD countries to support the recovery, boost social and infrastructure spending, help reach the Sustainable Development Goals, reduce debt vulnerabilities, and address climate related challenges.
