About Haruhiko Kuroda

Haruhiko Kuroda was appointed Governor of the Bank of Japan in March 2013 after serving for eight years as President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Prior to his position at the ADB, Mr. Kuroda was Special Adviser to the Cabinet of Prime Minister Koizumi, while he was Professor at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo from 2003 to 2005. During his career at Japan's Ministry of Finance from 1967 to 2003, Mr. Kuroda’s responsibilities encompassed fields including international finance and tax policies. From 1999 to 2003, he represented the Ministry as Vice Minister of Finance for International Affairs at numerous international monetary conferences such as the G7 and G20 meetings.

About David Lipton

David Lipton has been Acting Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) since July 2, 2019. He was appointed IMF First Deputy Managing Director in 2011 and was reappointed in 2016 for a second five-year term. Before coming to the IMF, Mr. Lipton was Special Assistant to the President of the United States and served as Senior Director for International Economic Affairs at the National Economic Council and National Security Council at the White House. Previously, he was a Managing Director at Citi, where he was Head of Global Country Risk Management. He served at the U.S. Treasury Department from 1993 to 1998, including as Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs. 

About Michel Camdessus

Michel Camdessus assumed office as the seventh Managing Director and Chairman of the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in January 1987, and served until February 2000. Mr. Camdessus is the longest-serving Managing Director of the IMF to date. Previously, he held several senior positions in the French government, becoming Director of the Treasury in 1982. From 1978 to 1984, he also served as Chairman of the Paris Club, and was Chairman of the Monetary Committee of the European Economic Community from 1982 to 1984. Mr. Camdessus served as Deputy Governor of the Banque de France, and Governor of the Banque de France from November 1984 until his appointment as Managing Director of the IMF. He is currently an Honorary Governor of the Banque de France and a member of the Africa Progress Panel, a group of 10 distinguished individuals who advocate at the highest levels for equitable and sustainable development in Africa.
