Boriana Yontcheva is a Deputy Division Chief of the Regional Studies Division in the IMF’s African Department, and mission chief for Seychelles. Previously she served as mission chief for Mali. From 2012-2015, she was the IMF’s resident representative in Cameroon. Since joining the IMF, she has worked on a range of advanced, emerging market, and low-income countries. She holds a MSc from the University of Manchester and a PhD from the University of Aix-Marseille. Her research interests include the effectiveness of development aid, financial development and inclusion, fiscal and inequality issues.
