Visa Requirements
Accredited Journalists traveling from overseas to cover the Annual Meetings, who are not citizens or permanent residents of Peru, must contact and make arrangements with the Peruvian Embassy/Consulate in their country. In the absence of a Peruvian embassy or a consulate in their home country, journalists may request visas through the online visa system, via the following link: http://VisasJuntasBM-FMI.rree.gob.pe.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after verification of all requirements by applicants, will issue an "Official e-Visa" to allow them to easily board their airlines and enter the country. The following must be provided:
The following must be provided:
Journalist Visa Form.
Valid Passport, with minimum validity of six months (copy of the identification page).
Two color photographs (facing forward, with a white background, including (uncovered) head and shoulders).
Letter from the institution that the journalist represents.
Letter confirming registration as accredited Press.
Even though a journalist, because of citizenship, may not require a visa to enter to the country, the journalist visa will facilitate press accreditation and temporary entry of equipment. (see more below)
Professional equipment:
To bring professional equipment, journalists need to file a Temporary Import Form for professional equipment and materials (cameras, audio equipment, etc.), which can be downloaded here.
The equipment, in principle, has to enter the country with the journalist. However, if a journalist needs to send the equipment earlier or bring it back later, the same tax and customs treatment can be applied as long as it is established, with the Passport or official document, that the baggage arrived in the country one (1) month before and up to six (6) months after the date of arrival of the passenger. This should be indicated on the list of equipment accompanying the visa application with the arrival date of the passenger and the arrival / departure date of the equipment.
Press Credentials Pick-Up
Journalists who have been approved for accreditation can pick up credentials starting 8:00 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2015, at the Press Registration Desk, located in the Biblioteca Nacional. You are required to present press credentials and photo identification.
The Annual Meetings press credentials grant access to the Press Room, press conferences, briefings in the Museo de la Nación and panel debates in the Museo and the Gran Teatro Nacional. In order to access meetings or offices in the Centro de Convenciones or the Banco de la Nacion, accredited press should be escorted by WBG or IMF staff.
