Pritha Mitra is the mission chief for the Republic of Congo and a deputy division chief in the IMF’s African Department. She also leads the African Department’s policy work on climate change as well as food insecurity. In previous positions at the IMF, she was mission chief for Malawi, led regional surveillance work for the Middle East and North Africa, worked on several crisis countries in emerging Europe and on low-income and emerging market economies in Asia and Africa, and on low-income country policy design. Prior to working at the Fund, she worked as a senior transfer pricing expert for Arthur Andersen in New York and holds a PhD in Economics from Columbia University.
