Jesus Gonzalez-GarciaJesus Gonzalez-Garcia is a senior economist in the Strategy, Standards and Review Division of the IMF’s Statistics Department. Previously, he held the same position in the regional studies division of the African Department and in Western Hemisphere Department he worked as desk economist for some Caribbean economies and the Dominican Republic. His research has focused on applied econometrics: competition and its relationship with trade liberalization and growth; fiscal multipliers, growth spells and global value chains in developing countries; the identification of regime shifts in time series models; models for inflation targeting; and the effect of transparency about central bank’s reserve holdings on exchange rate volatility.
