Luis Brandao Marques is a Senior Economist in the Global Financial Stability Analysis Division in the Monetary and Capital Markets Department. He contributes to the Global Financial Stability Report and is working on various financial sector policy issues. He previously worked at the IMF’s Institute for Capacity Development training country officials. He has taught at the Johns Hopkins University and the University of Porto, and worked as a corporate banker, in Portugal. He has published in the Journal of Finance and the Journal of Monetary Economics. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Rochester.
