Caroline Atkinson is a former Director of the IMF’s External Relations Department. She left the Fund in August, 2011 to join the White House as a special assistant to the President for international economic affairs. During her IMF career, she was also Deputy Director of the Western Hemisphere Department. Outside the Fund, she has held high-level positions at the Bank of England, the U.S. Treasury, and the Council on Foreign Relations.
