Hélène Poirson is the Deputy Division Chief in the Macro Policy Division of the Strategy, Policy, and Review Department of the IMF. She joined the IMF in 1999 and has worked primarily on surveillance cases in emerging markets, including Brazil, Malaysia, India, South Africa, Thailand, and Turkey and on G7 countries including France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Euro Area. She has also spent time at the IMF Investment Office as a senior investment officer and at the Finance Department in the Concessional Financing Division. Her research focuses on a variety of macro-financial issues. Ms. Poirson is a CFA charterholder and has a PhD in applied macroeconomics from the Paris School of Economics (DELTA research center).
