Udaibir S. Das

Udaibir S Das is an Advisor and Assistant Director of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department. Until recently he managed the Fund’s Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP), and the development of Fund policies and tools for systemic risk analysis and stress testing. Mr. Das is closely associated with the work of the FSB and the international standard setting bodies. He has led financial stability assessments of countries such as China, France, Japan, Korea, and Spain. Mr. Das has worked in different capacities at the Bank for International Settlements, Bank of Guyana, and the Reserve Bank of India. At the IMF his work has focused on macro financial and financial stability issues, Sovereign Wealth Funds, and debt management. His current research work includes systemic risk frameworks in frontier and less developed financial markets, the role governance and culture play in financial stability, and the impact of aging on cross-border financial flows.
