F&D Staff Members
Gita Bhatt
Gita Bhatt is the head of Policy Communications and editor-in-chief of F&D. She has a multifaceted communications background, with more than 20 years of professional experience, including in media and public affairs. During 2009-11, she worked at the Reserve Bank of India as adviser to the governor. She has an MSc from the London School of Economics and a bachelor’s in economics and philosophy from the George Washington University.
Maureen Burke
Maureen Burke is managing editor of F&D. Educated at Washington University in St. Louis and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, she has more than 15 years of experience in communications at the IMF. Before joining the Fund, she worked for the petrochemicals consulting firm Phillip Townsend Associates in Omaha, Nebraska, and Nice, France.
Rahim B. Kanani
Rahim B. Kanani is digital editor of F&D—leading online editorial, strategy, and engagement. He has worked for the International Finance Corporation, World Bank, Skoll Foundation, United Nations, Harvard Kennedy School, and Fox Pictures/Malala Fund. Rahim has also interviewed more than 600 leading executives and innovators for major media. He studied philosophy at Western University, global politics at the London School of Economics, and religion, ethics, and politics at Harvard.
Andreas Adriano
Andreas Adriano is a senior editor with over 20 years of experience in media and communications. At the IMF, he leads communications on fintech and has handled media relations for Latin America and Europe, as well as for banking and finance. Between 2012 and 2015, Adriano was a senior press officer at the European Central Bank working with payments, the euro crisis, and the launch of the Single Supervisory Mechanism. He holds degrees in journalism and classical guitar and was once a music critic.
Analisa R. Bala
Analisa Bala is a senior editor for F&D with over 15 years of experience in communications and public policy. She started her career in a think tank and then worked at the South African National Treasury and Presidency before joining the Fund in 2014. Analisa has a bachelor’s degree in political analysis and communication from the University of Pretoria and a master’s in international economics from Johns Hopkins SAIS.
Peter J. Walker
Peter J. Walker is a senior editor and writer for F&D. He has worked in a variety of roles at the IMF, including stakeholder engagement and speechwriting. Before joining the Fund in 2007, he wrote speeches on public policy and was an aide to a UK trade minister. Peter holds a bachelor’s degree in history and politics from the University of Warwick and a master’s degree in public policy from University College London.
Adam Behsudi
Adam Behsudi is a senior editor for F&D. He joined the IMF after 15 years as a journalist, 10 of those covering international trade and politics for Politico and Inside U.S. Trade. His first reporting job was manning the night desk of the Asheville Citizen Times in the mountains of western North Carolina. Behsudi has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri and a master’s degree in interactive journalism from American University.
Lijun Li
Lijun Li is F&D’s multiskilled online editor. She has more than 20 years’ experience working in communications. Prior to joining the IMF, she worked for the People’s Bank of China in Beijing. As well as holding various credentials in desktop publishing from George Washington University, she also holds a master’s of finance and development and an MBA.
Melinda Weir
Melinda Weir is F&D’s production manager. She has worked in the IMF’s Media Relations and Policy Communications divisions as well as the Fiscal Affairs Department. Previously she worked for National Public Radio News and as an English teacher in Japan and Mexico. She holds a bachelor’s in English and a master’s in international affairs and development.
