Are there truly new ideas at hand for reducing poverty? A number of experts believe the answer is indeed yes. In that spirit, the IMF will be hosting an Economic Forum, to which you are invited, that will summarize and assess these ideas in the context of debt relief, the "politics" of social safety nets, program design, data gathering, and the roles of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank in fostering innovative approaches to implementing effective poverty reduction strategies. Panelists will consist of:

Anne Krueger (Moderator)
First Deputy Managing Director
IMF

Nicholas Stern
Chief Economist
World Bank

Montek Ahluwalia
Director, Independent Evaluation Office
IMF

Santiago Levy
Director General
Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social

Nancy Birdsall
Center for Global Development
