Re : Mortgage debt outstanding
The outstanding mortgage debt data we have is in Figure 3.1 in the April 2008 WEO for a handful of advanced economies. Most of the data came from the European Mortgage Federation's Hypostat Statistical Tables (http://www.hypo.org/Content/Default.asp?PageID=343). The data for the U.S., Japan, Canada, and Australia come from their own national sources (e.g. Federal Reserve for the U.S.). Beyond these countries, we found useful mortgage data hard to come by...
