Sonja Davidovic is an economist in the Offices of the Managing Director and a Digital Expert in the IT Department. At the IMF, Sonja has worked in the Statistics and Finance Departments as well as on several country assignments in the Asia Pacific and European Departments. In her role as Digital Expert, she is exploring how emerging technologies can help IMF member countries achieve strategic economic and development goals. Sonja is also part of an inter-departmental team working on central bank digital currency implementation considerations. As one of the founding Advisory Board members of the IMF Innovation Lab, she helped guide development, operations, and governance of the lab. Sonja holds an MSc from Georgetown University and an M.A. from Bonn University.
