Sheheryar Malik is Deputy Chief in the IMF’s Monetary and Capital Market Department, Global Markets Analysis Division. He contributes to macro-financial surveillance, as well as conjectural and analytical sections of the Global Financial Stability Report. Before joining the IMF, Sheheryar held economist positions at Banque de France, and the Bank of England. He has published in various journals, including the Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Banking and Finance, and American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics. Sheheryar holds an MSc in Finance and Economics, and PhD in Economics, both from the University of Warwick.
