Monica Petrescu is an economist in the IMF's Asia and Pacific Department, where she works on the Regional Economic Outlook. She joined the IMF in 2019, and has since worked on Jordan, the Republic of Congo, Vanuatu, and debt sustainability issues. Before joining the Fund, Monica completed her graduate studies at the University of Cambridge, and worked at the European Central Bank and at a London-based competition economics consultancy. Her research focuses on corporate finance, financial stability, and market microstructure.
