Ms. Karla Vásquez Suarez is a senior counsel in the IMF’s Legal Department with more than fifteen years of experience in debt management, public finance and financial sector supervision. She has provided legal advice in Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe and the MENA region. Prior to joining the IMF, she worked in Bolivia’s banking regulatory agencies. Karla earned an LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law from Georgetown University and has been a member of the New York Bar since 2014.
