Hamza Mighri is a Research Analyst at the Africa Department’s Regional Studies Division at the International Monetary Fund. Prior to joining the IMF,  he was a consultant at the Poverty and Equity MENA at the World Bank Group working on topics such as monetary and multidimensional poverty measurement, as well as fiscal incidence of government tax and social transfer policies. His current research focuses on the fiscal impact of climate change, geoeconomic fragmentation, and exchange rate pressure in Sub-Saharan Africa. Hamza holds a master’s degree in Quantitative Economics from IHEC Carthage in Tunisia and a master’s in Political Economy from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
