Ashok Vir Bhatia is a deputy chief of the advanced economies unit of the IMF's European Department, responsible for euro area monetary and financial sector policies. He has previously served as mission chief for Luxembourg and Iceland, deputy mission chief for Ireland during the EU/IMF-supported program, and as a financial sector economist on the U.S. team during the global financial crisis.
