Alasdair Scott is Deputy Division Chief of the Regional Studies Division in the Asia and Pacific Department and Mission Chief for Lao P.D.R. He began his career at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, followed by secondments from the RBNZ to the central banks of Canada and Sweden and then positions at the Bank of England. At the International Monetary Fund he has worked in the Research Department, European Department, and Asia-Pacific Department. He has been mission chief for Cambodia, Czech Republic, Finland, Montenegro, and Lao P.D.R., and Deputy Chief on the United Kingdom. He studied economics at the University of Auckland and Princeton University.
